Today we're officially flipping the switch on Auto Flow Mode, a new way for developers to protect their flow with better and smarter automation. 

If you have Auto Flow Mode turned on in your Code Time settings, your flow mode automations will now be seamlessly triggered during high velocity coding sessions.  

Auto Flow Mode detects when you are in flow and automatically triggers customizable workflows to silence distractions and prevent interruptions. You can automatically block Slack notifications, let your team know you are In Flow with a custom status message, and protect focus time on your calendar.

Here's how to configure Auto Flow Mode:

1. Open the Code Time view in your code editor or IDE. Click the gear icon next to the Flow Mode button to configure your Auto Flow Mode settings. 

2. Toggle on (or off) Automatic Flow Mode. Click the save button at the bottom.

3. Connect Slack to pause Slack Notifications and connect Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook to block time in your calendar when you're in flow.

5. Code! Flow Mode will automatically turn on when you're in a high velocity coding session.

Today we're releasing a small improvement to our definition of 90-day rolling averages for active code time. 

To better understand how much time you spend coding during a typical day, your 90-day rolling average now includes days when you did not spend time coding.

As developers, we know that we are often responsible for a variety of non-coding tasks at work, such as meetings, code reviews, and project planning. As a result, most developers don’t code every day. We hope to better reflect in our metrics the reality that many developers face at work. 

For example, if you coded for several hours on Monday, but had long meetings on Tuesday and were not able to code, both days will now be included in your 90-day average. Previously, your 90-day rolling average only included days when you spent time coding. 

Note that we're updating our algorithm for rolling averages, but your total active code time each day will remain unchanged. As always, you can browse your historical data in your dashboard.

You can now switch between light and dark mode in the web app. 

To toggle dark mode on, click the sun icon on the top right of the navigation bar next to your name. To toggle dark mode off, simply click the moon icon. 

Dark mode also works when creating a DevOps performance report with the new GitHub integration.

The latest version of Code Time adds new features that will you help you stay in flow and boost your productivity: 

• Flow automations that you can use to toggle Zen mode, enter full screen, and hide your Dock. If you connect a Slack workspace, you can also pause notifications, update your profile status, and set your presence to away.
• Redesigned sidebar that makes it easier to see your stats at a glance. Toggle between personal and global averages by clicking Today vs. the global average or Today vs. your personal average.

You can get the latest version of Code Time in your code editor's extension marketplace or by automatically updating your extensions. Try it out on VS Code and Atom (and coming soon to JetBrains IDEs).

Today, we're excited to launch the beta release of our Code Anywhere dashboard for teams.

We created the dashboard to help teams see the benefits of remote vs. office work. Does your team work better at the office or from home? You'll have to see the data to find out.

Creating a team and inviting team members will allow you to see your team's aggregated, anonymized data in a single, unified dashboard. Everyone on your team will see the same data. Remember—your individual data is always private. Developer privacy continues to be, and will always be, top of mind for us.

You'll see the same data as in your personal dashboard, but each metric will be an average across team members. Here's an example of what it looks like:

It's an open beta, so anyone can create or join team, but first, someone at your company will have to create a Software organization. To create a Software organization, you will need to link your GitHub organization. We require GitHub to ensure that only your team's work projects (and not your personal side projects) are included in your team dashboard.

Anyone can create a team, for free, and use it for free, forever. The free plan includes up to two weeks of data.

Both teams and their parent organizations can upgrade to a paid plan for a charge per member per month. If someone upgrades to a paid subscription at the organization level, all teams in your organization will have access to the features of the paid subscription.
