We’re releasing our next major update to the Software.com platform, including a new GitHub integration to help you visualize your development speed and delivery frequency.
Connect GitHub and generate a free historical report of your team’s key DevOps performance metrics, including delivery frequency and code throughput, in less than 5 minutes. With global data, you’ll be able to see where your company ranks compared to industry top performers.
You can also invite anyone on your team when you generate your organization's GitHub report. Simply copy the link and share in your team's Slack workspace, or add team members by email.
After generating your GitHub report, you’ll unlock access to continuously updating metrics about your organization's DevOps performance. You can view your organization’s lead time, commit activity, and production throughput—refreshed daily.
Over time, you’ll be able to see how your team is trending, as well as how your company ranks compared to global benchmarks.
As always, data isn’t just an intellectual exercise. It needs to be translated into action. It’s the old adage—measure what you want to improve.

When you create a team, you can see how your team compares across a range of KPIs. For instance, when are your team's top code times? Do you meet more than you code?
We code above the global average (by 33%). What's your team's data look like?
Your data is always private. Team data is anonymized, aggregated, and for the whole team, not just the manager. We're not interested in building spyware for managers. Mason (our CTO) wrote up our collective view on data privacy. I'd encourage you to check it out.
Explore your team's trends
See your 90-day trends across metrics such as active code time, coding during vs. after work, and meeting time. You can also visualize your team's top code times and then schedule meetings around those times.

We simplified the dashboard for you and for your team (same metrics, simpler design). And we'll be adding more to it soon—like metrics from GitHub and Slack.

Streamlined team onboarding
It's now even simpler to create a team. All you need is a clever name and then you can drop an invite link in Slack for your teammates to join.
No credit card is required, there's no sales demo, and the free tier is free forever. We're pretty adamant about keeping it this way. If you want more than 90 days of history, you can upgrade to our Pro plan. We'll be adding more features over time to our paid Pro plan.

Today, we're excited to launch the beta release of our Code Anywhere dashboard for teams.
We created the dashboard to help teams see the benefits of remote vs. office work. Does your team work better at the office or from home? You'll have to see the data to find out.
Creating a team and inviting team members will allow you to see your team's aggregated, anonymized data in a single, unified dashboard. Everyone on your team will see the same data. Remember—your individual data is always private. Developer privacy continues to be, and will always be, top of mind for us.
You'll see the same data as in your personal dashboard, but each metric will be an average across team members. Here's an example of what it looks like:
It's an open beta, so anyone can create or join team, but first, someone at your company will have to create a Software organization. To create a Software organization, you will need to link your GitHub organization. We require GitHub to ensure that only your team's work projects (and not your personal side projects) are included in your team dashboard.
Anyone can create a team, for free, and use it for free, forever. The free plan includes up to two weeks of data.
Both teams and their parent organizations can upgrade to a paid plan for a charge per member per month. If someone upgrades to a paid subscription at the organization level, all teams in your organization will have access to the features of the paid subscription.
